D R .  D A N N Y  W A T T SDr. Danny Watts, Dentist in Austin TX

Danny Watts grew up in the Texas Panhandle, farming and ginning cotton. He followed his older brothers to the University of Texas and into chemical engineering. Fate intervened just before graduation, when a fraternity brother planning to take the dental entrance exam, convinced him to do so as well. It was a match made in heaven! He attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas and then completed a pediatric residency there, serving as Chief Fellow at Children's Medical Center. Dr. Watts is board certified in pediatric dentistry and has been in practice since 1978.

Dr. Watts and his wife Melanie have been married over 40 years and have two children Christopher, an attorney with a Houston company that builds oil refineries worldwide, and Brooke, who is the practice's marketing specialist and a certified personal trainer trying to whip her dad into shape! Dr. Watts enjoys watching the Longhorns do anything, working on his Spicewood homestead, fishing (when the lake has water), and playing golf.

Dr. Watts is past president for the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and was recently inducted into the prestigious American and International College of Dentists. He is a long-time supporter of Ronald McDonald House, personally, and has made that the primary philanthropy of his practice. Dr. Watts volunteers his services for international patients flown into Dell Children's Hospital for care and for special needs children throughout Texas. He has served on the medical executive committee at Bailey Square Surgical Center, as chairman for dental services, for more than 20 years.

Whether we like it or not, people are often judged by their appearances and Dr. Williams believes that every child (and adult) should be given every advantage available and help them succeed. As a result he is dedicated to creating beautiful smiles and healthy bites, building a foundation for oral health as well as confidence and self-esteem. He enjoys the relationships with patients that develop during treatment and watching their confidence grow as a result of their beautiful new smile. Dr. Williams grew up in Austin where he attended Austin High School and The University of Texas. He holds degrees as a Doctor of Dental Surgery, a Master of Sciences and has also completed the additional two-year residency of specialty training in Orthodontics. He earned his certification from the American Board of Orthodontics. Continuing education courses and seminars serve to enhance his education in the most current developments in orthodontics. Dr. Williams is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Texas Association of Orthodontics and the Southwestern Society of Orthodontics and is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Williams' wife, Elizabeth, also grew up in Austin. They have two daughters and five grandchildren whom they enjoy spoiling. They continue their commitment to children by actively supporting the Helping Hand Home and the Ronald McDonald House where Elizabeth is an active volunteer.

Dr. Jeff Zapalac, Austin TX Orthodontist

Dr. Zapalac is a native of Austin and has enjoyed the private practice of orthodontics in Austin for over 30 years. His degrees and training are all from the University of Texas System. His undergraduate degree is from UT Austin and his graduate degrees are from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He opened his practice in Austin after completing his two-year orthodontic residency training. During the ensuing 30 years, he has stayed abreast of the most progressive technological and theoretical advances in orthodontics via continuing education courses, seminars, and mini-residencies. His goal is to achieve the optimal esthetic and functional results for each patient and to do this whenever possible without removing permanent teeth. For some this means starting orthodontics at an earlier age and for most this means close coordination with your general dentist and/or other dental specialist.

He and his wife Shannon are both from Austin, graduating together from McCallum High School and the University of Texas. They have raised their children here and now have grandchildren growing up in Austin...fourth generation Austinites. Outside of his practice, he spends as much time outdoors as possible. He enjoys golf, hiking, gardening, biking, photography, reading, and entertaining his grandkids! Because part of Dr. Zapalac is still a child at heart, watching kids grow and change continues to intrigue him. He feels blessed that he can do this both in his work and in his personal life.
